The Winelands Echo was established in 2004 and is a 100% black-owned newspaper.
Winelands Echo is owned by Joseph Bushby and Eugene van Niekerk. Distribution is 10 000 copies FREE to the residential community and townships all over the Winelands and Boland areas.
During the past 12 years a loyal leadership have been established.
We are a community newspaper highligting vacancies, tenders, and other opportunities and focuses on the positive side of the community.
The challenges facing our communities are alcohol abuse, substance abuse, teenage pregnancies and high school dropout rate, which are covered by the newspaper. The MDDA grant covers printing of the newspaper, personnel costs, equipment and software, salaries, distribution, telecommunications and audit fees.
